Say their names

At the moment that these photographs were captured, did each of these individuals make a choice?

Say Their Names addresses a lack of accessible African American photographic history in Wilcox County. Previously, the photographs lived in an archive at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, far from those with living memory of the individuals in the photographs. Say Their Names returns these images to the place, the lands, and the people that the individuals within the photographs were, and are, connected to.
